Who is Pawsitive Dog Dialogue?
Hi, I’m Damo, a dog behaviour specialist passionate about enhancing the well-being of dogs and their guardians. My journey began in the UK with my first family dog, but things really took off when my first Alaskan Malamute entered my life—they’re still a breed that continues to fuel my fascination with canine psychology and behaviour. I honed my methods while living and working with a pack of 29 sled dogs in Northern Sweden, developing a holistic approach that balances diet, exercise, enrichment, and emotional care.
Over the years, Pawsitive Dog Dialogue has helped countless dogs and their owners overcome behavioural challenges, from reactivity and anxiety, to issues rooted in misunderstanding. Often, all it takes for a dog to flourish is the release of an owner's inhibitions or assumptions, unlocking the true potential of their bond. By working together, we focus on empowering owners to embrace new perspectives and effective strategies.
Our work has even led to collaborations and projects involving YouTube, MTV, LNER Trains, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and the amazing photographer, artist and sculptor, Linda Blacker. We are also partners at the Me-Mush Academy, an amazing platform that teaches and guides sled dog enthusiasts from all over the world. These endeavours really showcase the time, dedication, and love poured into enriching the lives of my dogs and those we meet. I am always looking for new experiences to strengthen these bonds, enrich lives, and share our knowledge. If you’ve got an idea you’d like to collaborate with us on, please do get in touch!
I would not call myself a dog trainer but a dog behaviourist; I prioritise understanding and modifying behaviours that cause stress or disruption. My background as an NHS paramedic and my personal experience with PTSD and ADHD gives me a unique insight into the profound healing power of the human-dog bond. My background has also taught me to live more in the moment, look more to the future, and that the past is something to learn from, not something we let hold us back.
At my side is Blue, my fifth loyal Alaskan Malamute, adopted from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2022. Blue has travelled with me across Europe and plays a crucial role in our work, helping to identify issues, reassure dogs and owners, and aid in socialisation. He is living proof that a dog’s history does not define their future. Together, we aim to show that with the right support, every dog can thrive.
Our ultimate goal is to enrich the lives of dogs and their owners, creating lasting, joyful connections built on understanding, mutual respect, and a willingness to grow and learn together.
